The data is in. Most of us did better our 3rd 800 m run than we did the first. We could chalk it up to pacing ourselves the first and even the second rounds. I noticed, for me however, that my third run was better because I loosened up. I got in that rhythm. So I got to thinking there must be something to this warm up stuff. I do it as much as the next person but we’ve really got to get out of the “I’m conserving energy for the WOD mentality” and get our bodies primed for what we do. There are physical and mental benefits to working up a sweat before the clock starts. Let’s get an understanding for what we need to be doing pre-WOD before we target our weaknesses today.
