Friday 7-13-12

I wanted to share a thought – or two. Whether you come to CrossFit because you want to reclaim your athleticism or you want to get it for the first time, what we do at the box doesn’t happen overnight. It might not happen for a while. I know that’s not what people want to hear and you might be wondering why I’m saying it. One of my favorite questions is “how long does it take to…?” and you can fill in the rest. There are so many variables to that question that to answer it could make a liar out of me. There’s no magic switch we flip when we feel like you’re ready to get a pull up, handstand push up, muscle up etc, etc. The fact is, it takes time and effort. There are some things in CrossFit that I got right away. There are things in CrossFit that to this day I am still working on. Guess what I am doing to get them? That’s right – WORK! Show up early and stay late. Everything that we do helps you do the other things better as long as you are doing each exercise correctly. This is why we use the expression translatable. Okay that was one thought and  I’ll stop there for now.
